Mathieu Valbuena was the centre of attention as Marseille took on Lyon at the Stade Velodrome.
The midfielder, who joined Lyon this summer, was making his first appearance back at Marseille after ending his eight-year stint with the club in 2014 by joining Dynamo Moscow for what some fans felt were financial reasons.
The home fans were ready for him, 'hanging' an effigy of the player and unveiling a banner which said "True Marseillais only play for OM, you are nothing but a traitor".
The hostility extended onto the pitch, with Romain Alessandrini shown a red card for a terrible late tackle on Valbuena after Alexandre Lacazette had given the away side the lead from the penalty spot.
The game was then suspended for 20 minutes as a result of missiles being thrown at Valbuena from the stands before the players returned for the remaining 25 minutes, during which Karim Rekik, once of Manchester City, scored to earn the home side a point.

Toure: Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ will never happen again
Yaya Toure believes the standard of the current English game means the Arsenal ‘Invincibles’ season “will never happen again”.
Arsenal memorably went the 2003/04 Premier League season unbeaten en-route to winning the title, with only Preston in 1888/89 managing to match that feat in the English top-flight.

Former Gunners trialist and current Manchester City midfielder Toure believes that the emergence of competitors to the elite in the likes of West Ham and Leicester mean that such a feat will never be repeated, however.
“The Premier League is always improving and you see how the big clubs invest in players for a lot of money and this sequence in football – the Invincibles – it will never happen again in the Premier League,” Toure told the Guardian.

“All the teams are spending money, buying big players. Like West Ham, even Leicester, Stoke spending on players from Barcelona. You can understand how the Premier League is so competitive because all the players want to come to England and want to improve, and want to play well. It’s difficult, the Premier League.”

Turning his attention to City, Toure insists that Manuel Pellegrini’s men have little to worry about despite two defeats in a week, including a home loss to West Ham which spelled the end of their own unbeaten run in the league.
“Sometimes it is just about luck,” Toure said. “We played well against West Ham but we were unlucky again – the same as against Juventus.

“What are we going to do? We have been shooting, I don’t know how many times, and I missed chances too. I should have blown the hand of the keeper off but it’s football.”
“Definitely he (Sergio Aguero) will come back,” he said. “It’s just about one goal with Sergio. He was injured a few days ago and now he is back and it’s not easy.

“It’s only six games in, 32 to go and it’s going to be tough. It’s good for the league and the fans as well. I’m not worried. This season the league is going to be tough. We started well and we just lacked that little bit extra. We have been shooting and we missed that luck to change this situation. It’s the little margins.”
